Lee Baird

Lee has been part of Amnesty International Group 23 since 2011 and has served as our group leader for the past 5 years. He is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas where he completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in Liberal Arts specializing on human rights and civil liberties. He is currently an adjunct professor of introductory American Government at Texas Southern University and Houston Community College. Lee also volunteers with the American Civil Liberties Union, Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Social Motion Skills and Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty. Lee will be attending law school in the fall of 2019!

Michael is prisoner coordinator for the Women of Santiago Atenco (Mexico); secretary of the Christina Fund, Inc., our subsidiary corporation, and coordinator of the Anti-Torture Campaign. Michael has more than 20 years of experience in international law as a trilingual lawyer.
Nancy Bailey
Anti-Death Penalty CoordinatorNancy has a BS from Auburn University and is retired from dual careers in the clinical laboratory and real estate sales. She is a former board member of Texas Coalition to Abolish the death penalty. She has been active in anti-death penalty work since 1995. As a former supporter of the death penalty, Nancy is living proof that, given information on the deplorable application of the death penalty, people can change their minds.

Anti-Torture & South Asian Regional Action Network Coordinator
Juli Kring has been a member of Amnesty International about 10 years and is currently the Anti-Torture & South Asia Regional Action Network (SARAN) Coordinator for Local 23. She also coordinates with other NGOs on the issues of reparations for the 1984 Bhopal/DOW chemical disaster, legal rights and protections for women/girls in Afghanistan, global corporate accountability and for the passage of the Stop Violence Against Women Act.
She has worked for the Houston Public Library for 15 years, has been a member of Grace United Church of Christ for 20, and is also a longtime member and supporter of Greenpeace.

Hana has been a member of Amnesty International group 23 since 2007 serving in many capacities. She works as a financial planner and consulting engineer. Hana is an accomplished athlete on the international level))).
